THE STOP THE DOWNGRADE CAMPAIGN - AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

To effect an immediate and complete cessation of the withdrawal of services from St. John’s Hospital.

To ensure the long term future of St. John’s as an acute hospital by promoting an open and transparent debate. This debate will include clinical staff as well as the public, and consideration will be given to the return of services already withdrawn as well as an increase in the catchment area.

Where services cannot be returned, to ensure access to these from all areas of
West Lothian through the provision of a free and frequent bus service.

To exact an immediate freeze on car parking charges and seek the eventual abolition of fees for patients, staff and visitors at St. John’s

To lobby for Health Boards to be elected and accountable to the people.
